Michael Crye is executive vice president of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). Prior to his current role, he was president of the International Council of Cruise Lines (ICCL). Thanks to his years in the US Coast Guard, Crye has become
an expert in maritime, environmental and administrative law, regulation and legislation. In 2006, the ICCL merged with the CLIA.
The CLIA is North America’s largest cruise industry organisation and represents the interests of 21 member lines, 16,500 travel agencies and 100 strategic business partners and participants in the regulatory and policy development process. It
supports measures that foster a safe and secure cruise ship environment.
